Meet Ransley...

I'm originally from Portland OR (photo) and ended up in AZ on a whim in 2006. I've lived 2yrs in Tucson and 3yrs in Phoenix. I'm now 26yrs old, a finance major, and currently working as an investment banker at a mergers & acquisitions firm. I live in Phoenix with my youngest sister who I convinced to move down here after her graduation which coincided with me buying my condo.

I feel as if I have an analytical mind with philosophical interests. I am absolutely a foodie - and always welcome a good recommendation. I'm learning to like beer and enjoy drinking it at Four Peaks. Baseball has always played (<- ha, get it) a very large part in my life and I now travel around the country with a tournament softball team... weird. I would like to live in an international city at some point in my life.

I have two self-admitted obsessions in my life - Nike and my white iPhone 3GS

Favorite Book - Rethink
Movie - Ocean's 11 or Troy
Color - volt or royal blue
Food - Burgers (The Grind)
Drink - Johnny Walker Gold, rocks. Thanks sisters!

I am the future best man for Mr and Mrs Bryan D Jones.

The Kinda Guy Bryan Is

Bryan is the kinda guy that could be having an awful day and still be the first one to ask how you are doing.

I remember the first time I went to visit him in the hospital during his second stint of cancer. I walked into the hospital (which are already awful to visit), and I walked up to where he was being treated. Upon my first sight of Bryan, he was knocked out with tubes going into what seemed like every orifice, machines beeping, and the lights were off.

I immediately starting shaking and tearing up. I think I was 17 at the time which would've made him 18. We had been running mates since I was 12. He was always the better athlete, always the bigger of us two and seeing him like that was like seeing a fallen hero.

Nonetheless, I walked up him, sobbing, and sat next to him in silence for what seemed like 5 minutes. I grabbed his arm and he woke up. The first thing he said to me was, "Hey Rans. How are you?"

That's the kind of guy Bryan is.

What is this all about?

It started many years ago - Bryan and Ransley met while playing for the same baseball team in 7th grade. Grew up side by side. Went through two stints of cancer by his side. Ransley moved to AZ to finish college, Bryan graduated a psychology undergrad and moved with his then girlfriend (now fiance) to Brisbane after celebrating his 8th year of being cancer free. He is now set to graduate from a Masters program in teaching in November and moving back to Oregon to prepare for his wedding in August.
Ransley and Renee would like to take a trip to visit him and Kyrsten in November, during the week of Thanksgiving. We've forecasted a budget of $5000 which includes round trip tickets for 2 and money to see the island. Check back later to learn more about our fundraising strategy, but I'll give you a hint - it's a clean way to get dirty!
